GUIDELINE FOR WAIVER WIRE
Revised 10052010
1. New Players (NPs) will be rated by the Commissioners, Managers and any other designated players present at the Monday pickup games. A NP must attend a minimum of three pickup games, have an agreed rating established, paperwork complete and preferences noted (i.e. full-time, part-time, coastal, etc.) before being placed on the Waiver Wire.
2. If any NCSS team has 10 or less active players, the New Player will be assigned by the BOC to that team and the NP will remain with the NP status until the Draft.
3. Once this is complete, the Commissioners will send out an email Waiver Wire to the Managers. Managers will then have 48 hours to give an answer as to whether or not they want this player, only teams with fewer than 15 active players may participate in the Waiver Wire request. If more than one manager answers in the affirmative, the player will go to the team with the worst won/loss record for this season. However, this will apply after the fourth game of the current season. Prior to that time, the won/loss record of the previous season will be used. The tie-breaker would be the team with the lowest overall team player rating average. The following caveats apply:
a. The maximum number of active players on a team is 15. Any team with 15 active players, this does not include those on the DL, is not required to accept any new players.
b. If all teams have 15 active players, the NP will be placed on a waiting list and asked to continue to play on Mondays until such time as a space is available. The assignment will be on a first come, first served basis.
c. If a player returns from the DL bringing that team above 15 active players, the NP will be returned to the waiting list or he/she may choose to bump the last NP assigned to a team if he/she joined the Waiver Wire at an earlier date.
3. If no manager indicates that he/she wants this player within the 48 hour window, the Commissioners will then be responsible for assigning the NP to a team considering the number of players currently assigned, won/loss records, and overall team player rating average. The caveats listed above will also apply.
